New Zealand’s largest and one of its oldest law firms is called Russell McVeagh, and it awarded scholarships to school leavers based on strengths across a range of domains, including leadership and academia. I was awarded a school leavers’ scholarship in 2008, performed a summer clerkship in December-February 2012, and was offered a graduate position with the firm in 2013 in its Wellington Resource Management team. I declined the offer and elected to continue my work in medico-legal systems instead.
